NO MORE BLIND SPOTS - REAR VIEW MIRROR !!
THERE ARE SO MANY EMAILS I get now from Buddies who are just as amazed as I am at the PROGRESS we are making now in "GADGETS"... (HAVE YOU SEEN the Solar Panel highways? Seriously... They are electronic, never have to paint another road stripe, never loose track of where you are as the road will light up when questioned!) Amazing new products coming down the pike and how do you like this one? NO MORE BLIND SPOTS!!! This could be very helpful to you guys whose office is your car!!
I urge everyone to get the gadget(s) that simplify their lives. My kids kid me and tell me I'm the TV Marketer's Dream... but it's true!!! I never have to turn off a light - all on timers. I can see what's in my kitchen cabinets (all cans etc on Lazy Susans) I have the kitchen mop that is also a vacuum that vacuums, mops and dries in one effort! My grocery shopping list is on my Iphone and as I toss stuff in the basket, I erase the item from the list...it also has a reminder each week: USE YOUR COUPONS! I also make a note of things I'm looking for like shelving units etc. just in case I'm out somewhere and I might have time to look... When I empty the DISHWASHER I toss in a new pod thing (for next wash) and close that lid. I always know " IF THE LID IS DOWN, the DISHES have NOT been washed" ... I know it's neurotic but boy does it save time !!! Things people have taught me over the years... pass it on. Every minute is too precious to waste!

WHAT ABOUT THIS? Might as well...These Iphones take better photographs than the $1000's of dollars on cameras etc. we used to have to spend for locations!
Interpreting Your Pet's Behavior
He rolls over on his back… she whisks her tail when a stranger approaches... What does it all mean?
Understand the messages your pets can’t tell you in words.
How well do you know what your pet is trying to tell you? Most of us recognize the signs when one is hungry or needs to relieve himself. But what about the other things your pet does, those curious behavioral quirks? Find some answers right here.
WHY DOES MY DOG... Walk in a circle and paw a spot before lying down? It’s a habit going back to before dogs were domesticated, when they lived in the wild. Before bedding down outdoors, they carved out a dry, soft, level spot.
And they continue to do so now… even if it’s on your couch.
Stare and follow me around? Your dog wants attention. Perhaps a walk is needed, it’s mealtime, or he’s hoping that
you’ll give him a pat or a snack.
Scratch so much? It could be any number of reasons, the most common ones are an allergy or ear infection.
Work with your veterinarian to determine the cause.
Want to sleep with me? In the wild, pack members stuck together at night for warmth. Yours may simply feel more secure
(and protective) sleeping next to you.
Roll over so I can scratch his tummy? It feels good! He’s also spreading his scent on the ground and showing that he’s submissive to you.
Eat paper? This behavior is known as pica, and it’s wise to ask your veterinarian to rule out physical causes. If there’s no medical reason, your dog may simply be bored and this is his way of telling you he needs more attention.
Bark so much… howl… whine? Dogs vocalize for attention and to make their presence known. Keep in mind that your dog can detect sounds at a much higher pitch than you. Hearing something that you don’t may instigate the behavior.
Sleep so much? It’s typical for an adult dog to sleep 12 hours a day — and more as they grow older.
WHY DOES MY CAT... Meow? It’s a call for attention. Yours simply may want to be let into or out of the house or room. He/She
also could be telling you they are hungry, lonely, hurt, even in heat.
Observe your cat closely to determine the specific reason.
Lick me? Your neat-freak cat extends his/her grooming to you as a way of bonding. Unless it’s obsessive behavior,
a tongue bath is a compliment.
Bite me when I play with her? She could be over-stimulated by your touch, which brings out aggression.
Learn which touches calm, and which set a cat off.
Find the one person in the room who doesn’t like cats? Cats don’t like eye contact, so if someone avoids looking at a cat, the pet interprets that person as a non-threatening — and will gravitate there.
Flick her tail? Unlike when a happy dog wags his tail, when a cat lashes hers it can mean she is irritated or agitated.
Knead? It’s nursing behavior that helps a kitten to stimulate mother’s milk. An adult cat who continues to knead may have been weaned too early. Kneading is like a natural tranquilizer and may be accompanied by contented purring.
Rub against me? By putting his scent on you, it’s his way of saying, “You’re mine — and don’t forget it!”

DIET HINTS that WORK!!
In short-hand: Eat Breakfast @ 8 am; Snack @ 10:30 am; 12:30 Lunch; 2:30 snack and 5:30 "lean and green" then 'dessert'
It's basically about two things: PORTION SIZE and FREQUENCY. IF you do what I used to do:
work all day and skip meals, then are starving by 5:30 - or if you eat what you think is "diet" but it's a big salad with big dressing or if you graze all night until you go to bed... weight loss won't happen, but if you will
simply try to follow the schedule above (AND YOU CAN EVEN eat IN YOUR CAR) here's some suggestions:
Get some baskets for your counter top. Separate the "meals" into the 5 time slots. GET YOUR DIET (but high protein, 0 or low sugar) food from DIET DIRECT (same stuff as Medifast or other similar, but
instead of paying $ 16.99 + shipping for a box of 7 soup packages; you pay $ 11.99 (free if you buy month's supply)
SO it's Diet packets of Cereal (Oatmeal) or eggs for breakfast (takes 1 min in microwave)
it's a protein type bar (grab it and run) for mid-morning
Soup (I chop up Celery and onions and keep in separate container in fridge to dump in soup before I
nuke it) the soup is delicious (cream of Chicken/tomato etc)
then another protein bar or shake for afternoon (maybe even an apple)
and for dinner I have steamed spinach; broccoli; cabbage; beans etc 4 - 6 ounces of Steak, Chicken or Pork.. when I come down for the 2:30 snack, I put in a frozen package of Chicken breasts with
some olive oil drizzled over, in oven for 3 hours at 350. When I come back down at 5:30 it's
totally cooked...try it, you won't believe it. Salads come pre-cut, so I keep that in one big (formerly pie holder tupperware) in fridge. I scoop out a handful of that - top it with chopped onion or tomato or whatever,
grab the chicken from the oven - the bag of steamed veg. (like the spinach) that I also drizzled some
olive oil on... Batta Boom/Batta Bing... healthy dinner and then Adkins Peanut Butter cup dessert.
Not only loose weight, but you keep it off and you are NOT hungry !! Get your soups/bars etc here:
http://www.dietdirect.com/
someone was really smart and gathered up the good, diet food stuff and without paying "coaches" or heavy duty advertising, put all the stuff in one place for easy ordering. Gets to you in two days.
The part I like the best is not having to stop and think : "What can I fix for lunch etc?" I alternate the soups in the basket and just pick one each day.. surprise!!... No portion is larger than about 6 ounces.
it has most of your MDR for your vitamins.
I supplement with SOY ALMOND Milk and when I go to the movies, I get big sized Popcorn (STILL) .
I hope this helps. You don't need to sign up for any 'program'... and all that stuff about
Glycemic Index?? means don't eat sugar. TRY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!
ALSO, if we had a natural disaster (or whatever) we have a month's worth of food in a
12" x 18" basket on our counter top (just add water) :) Let me know how you do!!

Here are some great POLISHING hints! One for Furniture/one for Jewelry
NEVER BUY JEWELRY CLEANER AGAIN!
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon dish detergent
1 cup water
1 piece aluminum foil
Directions:
1. Heat water in the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes.
2. Cut a piece of aluminum foil that roughly covers the bottom of a small bowl (like a cereal bowl).
3. Pour hot water into bowl. Place salt, soda, and dish washing liquid into bowl. Place jewelry on top of foil and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse jewelry in cool water and dry jewelry completely with soft cloth. Discard solution after use and make a new batch next time.
4. According to wire-sculpture.com, "this works well for gold-filled, brass, German (nickel) silver, and sterling silver. I have even cleaned jewelry with freshwater pearls, shell cameos and mother of pearl with no problem.".

Make Appetizers Attractive
Here's a hint from a reader I just love! Use a crinkle cutter (I still call it a pickle slicer) to cut fresh veggies, eggs for deviled eggs and even rolled (from the frig) cookie dough. Kitchen Specialty stores will have this Pickle Sticker (Williams Sonoma; Kitchen-Kitchen etc. and on line) Cool about cookie dough cutting too! |
Pack Your Bags
Here's a perfect holiday use for all those plastic grocery sacks that are clogging up your cupboard and recycling area: Use them when shipping gifts–the bags themselves don't weigh squat. As long as the items being packed aren't too fragile, there's no need to splurge on packing peanuts. HELPFUL HINT FOR MAY-JUNE
Cleaning your MICROWAVE in a hurry! : Put a bowl of water in a microwave safe dish and let it boil for 5 minutes. The steam will cover the inside of the microwave. All you have to do is wipe away the mist from the steam with a sponge and PRESTO! Clean Microwave ! |
